About The Position

As a Principal System Application Engineer on our Marketing team, you'll work hand-in-hand with our customers, enabling them to transform our products into cutting-edge designs, all while building longlasting partnerships that thrive on success.

Requirements

  • Lead end-to-end development of isolated/non-isolated DC/DC power converters: concept, block diagrams, simulation, schematics, PCB layout, bring-up, board-level debugging, test and validation.
  • Define and optimize converter topologies, select power semiconductors (Si, GaN), and design high-performance magnetics.
  • Implement and tune digital & analog controllers and gate drivers for robust power management.
  • Use industry-standard simulation and PCB design tools; produce clear, inclusive documentation and release packages.
  • Ensure safety and EMI compliance; drive verification, certification readiness, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and uplift teammates through training, inclusive collaboration, and rigorous design reviews; communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
  • Partner with customers and cross-functional teams on applications such as telecom bricks, rack power supplies, and AI systems; contribute Application/System Engineering expertise
  • Candidates are required to provide proof of either US citizenship, Permanent US residency, or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8USC 1324b(a)(3).

Responsibilities

  • Execute the system solution roadmap to position Infineon as a leader in AI datacenter solutions, delivering application notes, solution boards, block diagrams, system value propositions, tech notes, and simulation models.
  • Lead the design and validation of cutting-edge power electronics for high-density AI accelerators, including custom DC-DC converters and dynamic power architectures, emphasizing high efficiency, power density, and superior transient performance for inference and training.
  • Explore and prototype advanced DC/DC conversion approaches using resonant topologies, wide‑bandgap semiconductors (GaN, SiC), and HV‑IBC architectures to push AI infrastructure performance.
  • Define and evaluate system architectures and application requirements for server power supplies; conduct market research, product analysis, and teardowns to identify topologies and technical gaps.
  • Create measurable technical value propositions and application-level collateral; assess new solutions (e.g., GaN); drive concept verification, design‑in collateral, and inclusive technical customer support.
  • Deliver technical trainings for diverse internal and external stakeholders; partner with Digital Marketing on inclusive system positioning, clear system block representations, and searchable web content.
  • Provide technical inputs to RFIs/RFQs; contribute to feature definitions for digital & analog controllers and power stages; support customer engagements with occasional travel (about 25%)

Benefits

  • all employees will be eligible to participate in an incentive plan.
