About The Position

Airbnb is hiring a Principal, Strategic Finance & Analytics to support its Membership program. The role partners with leaders across business operations, product, analytics, data science, and Strategic Finance to help build and grow Membership, a program within a team responsible for developing and scaling new growth levers for Airbnb. The Strategic Finance & Analytics team sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and the business, advising leaders on investment, growth, and business priorities. Team members bring a CFO mindset to budget management, generate actionable insights, own performance narratives, and support day-to-day execution. The position serves as the strategic finance and analytics lead for Membership. The Principal helps leadership decide where to invest, size programs, and determine which initiatives are worth scaling, while becoming the subject matter expert on program economics, including effects on guest and host behavior, costs, and returns. Since many programs are early-stage and lack established financial and analytical foundations, the role defines and builds those foundations. It calls for a commercial mindset, strong analytical judgment, and the ability to translate performance and data into clear implications and recommendations for senior leaders in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. Responsibilities include conducting financial and analytical deep dives; building investment cases, sizing opportunities, modeling returns, and presenting tradeoffs; owning performance measurement, KPIs, goals, OKRs, reporting, and forecasting; supporting annual and long-range planning and monthly or quarterly forecasts; evaluating program costs, responses, and incremental impact; and presenting executive-ready narratives and recommendations that align cross-functional stakeholders. The role is US remote eligible, with occasional office work or offsites as agreed with the manager. Employees must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. The base pay range is $168,000–$206,000 USD; the role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

  • High proficiency in business analytics, including the ability to independently extract, analyze, and synthesize large datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with audiences at various levels; ability to synthesize fragmented data and insights into a story with recommendations.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional partners and drive alignment in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where frameworks are still being built.
  • High ownership, strong judgment, and attention to detail.
  • AI proficiency or ability to become AI proficient, with Claude or Gemini given as examples.
