The Hardware Design Integrity department supports program execution quality and on-time delivery by ensuring the integrity, compliance, security, and process efficiency of technical data, designs, and systems. The Design Integrity team is seeking a Principal Specialist Design Integrity Checker for an onsite position in Tucson, Arizona. Candidates may have a mechanical or electrical engineering background but must meet the required qualifications for at least one discipline. For mechanical design checking, the role verifies and validates traditional mechanical 2D drawings and model-based Design Technical Data Packages (TDPs), including documentation and models for machined parts, castings, and other fabricated items. The checker reviews production- and procurement-related drawings, documentation, and electronic data for producibility, data integrity, quality, and consistency; checks form, fit, and function against program requirements and applicable company and industry standards; and confirms that design representations are synchronized with the source design database models. Reviews follow ASME Y14.41 and MIL-STD-31000. For electrical design checking, the role performs formal, systematic verification and validation of traditional electrical 2D TDPs, including circuit card or flexible circuit assemblies, printed wiring boards, schematics, electronic Bills of Material (eBOMs), and CAD-developed design models. It may include checking software documents against program requirements and model-based design TDPs, confirming synchronization between drawings and their source database models, and ensuring compliance with ASME Y14.41 and MIL-STD-31000. The selected candidate may receive training to verify and validate TDPs in the other discipline as well.
