About The Position

The Principal Solutions Engineer provides senior-level technical leadership in the design, development, and integration of complex technology solutions across the organization. The role serves as a technical subject matter expert, translating business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and supportable solutions across data, applications, integrations, and cloud technologies. The position is based in The Fresh Market’s Store Support Center (099) and includes technical guidance and mentorship for engineering and development team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in data architecture, data management, or related fields, with a proven track record in enterprise-level data solutions.
• Proficiency in database technologies and data modeling tools.
• Experience with data integration tools such as SSIS and ETL/ELT methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as AWS and Azure and their data services.
• Familiarity with Snowflake and related data warehousing, data modeling, and integration concepts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to think critically about data architecture and management challenges.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Master’s degree.
• Experience with SAP data architecture, data integration, and enterprise data models.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical leadership and expertise for complex solutions spanning applications, data, integrations, and cloud platforms.
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, reliable, and supportable technology solutions.
• Design and develop solution architectures, data models, integration patterns, and technical frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership for the design and management of application metadata, transactional data, and operational/log data.
• Design and oversee data integration and ETL solutions using SSIS, Snowflake, and other integration platforms, including integrations with SAP and other enterprise systems.
• Evaluate and recommend technical solutions, platforms, tools, and technologies based on business requirements and architectural standards, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert and guide engineers, developers, architects, and project teams through complex technical challenges.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency, and lead implementation of appropriate solutions.
• Provide technical leadership for cloud-based solutions and data platforms, including Snowflake, AWS, Azure, and related services.
• Ensure data and integration solutions maintain standards for data quality, security, integrity, and accessibility.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across application, data, integration, and infrastructure boundaries and drive them through resolution.
• Establish and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, architecture diagrams, data models, integration patterns, and technical standards.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technology teams to understand current and future needs and develop solutions supporting immediate requirements and long-term technology strategies.
• Mentor and guide engineering and development team members, helping establish consistent engineering practices and grow internal technical capabilities.
