About The Position

Deloitte Global is the engine of the Deloitte network, with professionals working across disciplines and borders to develop and lead global initiatives. The Principal Solution Architect will design and evolve high-level and detailed architecture for new product features while supporting and improving existing capabilities. This is a hands-on role that pairs architecture with engineering, produces reference implementations, and ensures robust, scalable, and cost-efficient Azure solutions using .NET/C#, React, Node.js, and TypeScript. The architect will guide event-driven and streaming systems, data-intensive workloads, APIs, data models, security, observability, production readiness, and delivery practices. The role also includes mentoring and pairing with engineers, reviewing code, defining architecture decisions, and optimizing systems for performance and cost. Deloitte Technology develops and operates technology and processes that support and protect Deloitte globally.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience building production software.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a hands-on architect or principal engineer.
  • Deep proficiency in C#/.NET 7 or 8, ASP.NET Core, WebAPI, asynchronous programming, concurrency, and performance profiling.
  • Strong experience with React 18 or later, TypeScript, Node.js, and testing with Jest or Cypress.
  • Azure expertise, including App Services, Functions, AKS, API Management, Service Bus/Event Hubs, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Storage, Key Vault, and App Insights.
  • Proven delivery of data-processing-intensive systems, including batch or streaming workloads, resiliency, throughput, and cost considerations.
  • Experience with CI/CD using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, IaC using Bicep or Terraform, and containers using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of architecture trade-offs, domain-driven design, integration patterns, and secure design.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Databricks or Data Lake, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Experience with multi-region active-active design, disaster recovery (RPO/RTO), OpenAPI/Swagger, or GraphQL.
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert or DevOps Engineer Expert certification.

Responsibilities

  • Define high-level and low-level designs for new features and complex refactors, including context and container diagrams, sequence diagrams, deployment views, and data flows.
  • Author and maintain Architecture Decision Records, validating decisions through experiments and load tests.
  • Build reference implementations and proofs of concept in C#/.NET and React/Node.js to evaluate patterns, performance, and operability.
  • Review and merge pull requests, provide actionable feedback, and pair with engineers on complex problems.
  • Design event-driven and streaming architectures using Azure services such as Service Bus, Functions, App Services, AKS, and API Management.
  • Engineer high-throughput, low-latency systems using concurrency, asynchronous I/O, caching, partitioning, idempotency, back-pressure, and circuit-breaking.
  • Model data across Azure SQL and Cosmos DB, including indexing, partitioning, consistency, and query optimization.
  • Guide React and TypeScript architecture, including component design, state management, performance profiling, accessibility, and SSR/BFF patterns with Node.js.
  • Establish clean API contracts, schema governance, and sound error semantics for REST/JSON and GraphQL where appropriate.
  • Drive observability through distributed tracing, metrics, logs, dashboards, and alerts.
  • Build security into solutions through OIDC/OAuth2, Entra ID, Key Vault, OWASP ASVS, and threat modeling.
  • Define SLOs and SLIs, manage error budgets, ensure production readiness, participate in on-call, and conduct root-cause analysis for major incidents.
  • Champion CI/CD, infrastructure as code, repeatable environments, and golden paths and templates.
  • Optimize cost and performance through compute right-sizing, data tiering, caching, and workload scheduling.

Benefits

  • Opportunities to build new skills, take on leadership opportunities, and connect and grow through mentorship.
  • On-the-job learning experiences and formal development programs.
