Principal Software Engineer (m/f/d)
About The Position
1KOMMA5° is seeking a top-tier Principal Software Engineer to lead with clarity, decisiveness, and deep technical insight. This role involves shaping and owning critical architectural decisions, driving alignment across teams, and ensuring execution at the highest technical standard. The position is part of the tech team, focusing on two main work streams: Heartbeat (building a virtual power plant and customer experience app) and the Operating System for installation companies (digitizing operations and processes). The company's vision is to accelerate CO2 neutral life for all by providing a one-stop-shop for solar, charging stations, and heat pumps, making clean energy smarter with their Heartbeat AI.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience in software development with multiple general-purpose programming languages for a minimum of 5 years
- A proven track record of architecting scalable and secure systems, demonstrating a strong commitment to quality
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing APIs that enable seamless integration and system communication
- An agile and result-oriented mindset, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and teamwork
- Expertise in communicating with stakeholders in business terms and understanding the technical implications of their requirements
- Industry-leading experience driving cross-functional teams and enforcing engineering alignment in fast-paced environments, including making and following through on critical technical decisions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in German
- Experience with IaC (ideally Terraform)
- Interest in climate tech industry
