About The Position

Designs and delivers enterprise-grade, service-side software solutions that support divisional strategy and business objectives within large-scale, multi-application environments. Develops service-side software applications; automates deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications; ensures code quality through unit, integration, and API testing; and monitors application health. Produces software components that enable scalable, maintainable systems aligned with established architectural standards. Contributes to service-oriented and API-based solutions supporting system integration, data exchange, and platform interoperability. Participates in software design, development, and testing activities to support reliable application behavior and operational stability. The role participates in architecture design teams, defines and implements application-level architecture, and develops applications for complex projects, components, and subsystems. It supports quality assurance readiness, documentation, project planning and delivery, risk management, coordination of complex schedules, business-unit liaison work, technology evaluations, and technical strategy advice. It also mentors junior team members, conducts complex technical and functional analysis, and develops creative technical solutions. The position requires a bachelor's degree in a listed or closely related field and five years of specified experience, or a master's degree in a listed or closely related field and three years of specified experience. The experience must include full-stack software development using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security for backend RESTful APIs in an Azure cloud environment. Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position. Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout; onsite requirements vary by role and location and may evolve. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent), and five years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer or in a closely related occupation; alternatively, a master's degree in one of those fields (or foreign education equivalent) and three years of such experience.
Experience performing full-stack software development using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security for backend RESTful APIs within an Azure cloud environment.
Demonstrated expertise designing and developing customer-facing enterprise web applications using Java and J2EE technologies, including Spring, Struts, Servlets, JSP, and JSTL; web security technologies OAuth and SAML; and SOAP/RESTful web services within the financial services industry.
Demonstrated expertise in Java object-oriented design; developing web services using Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Spring MVC; and designing and optimizing Oracle database queries using advanced indexing, query optimization, and transaction management.
Demonstrated expertise implementing Test Driven Development and automated unit, integration, and API testing using JUnit, Cucumber, and Apache Karate.
Demonstrated expertise designing and developing middle-tier applications for data aggregation and transformation using Java middleware and event-driven architectures, including ActiveMQ and Azure Service Bus (ASB).
Demonstrated expertise deploying scalable solutions on Azure Cloud for high availability and performance.
Demonstrated expertise deploying Azure Cloud applications using Jenkins, Maven, Docker, and uDeploy; supporting production applications using Splunk and Kibana; monitoring applications using Datadog; and using Git for version control.

Responsibilities

Participate in architecture design teams.
Define and implement application-level architecture.
Develop applications, components, and subsystems for complex divisional projects.
Recommend development testing tools and methodologies, and review and validate test plans.
Ensure software deliverables are ready for quality assurance.
Develop comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
Establish full project life-cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
Meet project goals on time and within budget.
Advise on project risk assessment and risk management strategies.
Plan and coordinate complex project schedules and assignments across multiple projects.
Act as a primary liaison for business units to resolve project and technology issues.
Provide technology solutions for daily issues and technical evaluation estimates for technology initiatives.
Advise senior management on technical strategy.
Mentor junior team members.
Perform independent, complex technical and functional analysis for projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Develop original technical solutions for ongoing development efforts.
Develop service-side software applications and automate deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
Ensure code quality through unit, integration, and API testing, and monitor application health.
Contribute to service-oriented and API-based solutions for system integration, data exchange, and platform interoperability.
