About The Position

Trident Consulting is seeking a Principal Software Applications Engineer for a client in Burlington, Massachusetts. This onsite role focuses on developing commercial medical device software for Linux-based systems. The engineer will work with the Advanced Research team to translate algorithms developed in Python or MATLAB into efficient, production-quality C++ code. The role involves computer vision, computer graphics, image processing, and software that communicates with systems or devices.

Requirements

• Strong C++ software development experience; C++ is the primary requirement.
• Experience developing software in Linux environments.
• Some exposure to Windows-based C++ development.
• Experience in a regulated industry, preferably medical devices; defense or automotive experience is also relevant.
• Experience developing software that communicates with systems or devices.
• Ability to implement and optimize algorithms for commercial products.
• Familiarity with computer graphics, geometric transformations, and image processing.
• Experience using OpenCV or working alongside it.
• Understanding of Python and/or MATLAB.

Nice To Haves

• C# experience.
