About The Position

ADI’s Digital Business Unit is seeking a Principal RFIC design engineer to join the R&D team and enable the next generation of intelligent RF/wireless communication products. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: - Perform RFIC design, integration, development, and validation for an intelligent integrated RF/wireless communication system-on-chip (SOC) - Work with system teams and digital teams to build up RF/Analog front-end design requirements and block specifications - Coordinate chip integration with other analog/RFIC design engineers and provide guidelines for layout teams - Work with product application teams and production teams to complete the chip characterization, production test development, and end-customer supports - Provide technical support and mentor junior members of the team A successful candidate must have a good understanding of communication theories and DSP concepts, and have experience in wireless transceiver design and the full silicon and production development flow. Candidate must be familiar with modern wireless transceiver architecture design, system/behavior level modeling, and simulation for trade-off analysis and performance evaluation.

Requirements

  • MSEE degree with 15+ years or Ph.D. degree with 10+ years of industry experience in Analog or RF circuit design with advanced CMOS processes.
  • Design experience with RF front-end circuits, including LNAs, Mixers, and PAs, and baseband analog/mixed-signal circuits.
  • Design experience with the chip/IP integration lead on the RF/Analog front end and coordination of the entire project.
  • Must have a strong background in CMOS RF transceiver architectures for modern communication systems.
  • Solid understanding of device physics and advanced CMOS process.
  • Sufficient familiarity with Verilog-A/AMS and Matlab for behavioral modeling and system-level simulations
  • Strong knowledge of RF/Analog circuit simulation tools and testing techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment, including a spectrum analyzer and a network analyzer.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EM extraction and modeling for custom passive devices is preferred.
  • Design experience with Analog front-end circuits, including baseband analog circuits such as ADC/DAC and filter design.
  • Design experience in WiFi/Bluetooth/Cellar system is strongly preferred.
  • Design experience with low-power transceivers is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of RF production level test is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge in wireless/digital communication theory and DSP is preferred.
