About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal RF Electrical Engineer. This position is located in Clearfield, UT and supports the Remote Visual Assessment (RVA) program. The RF Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining RF systems, antennas, and communication equipment to support the government mission and operations. This role involves applying RF engineering principles to design and develop new systems, modify existing systems, and troubleshoot and resolve RF issues, while ensuring compliance with government regulations and industry standards. The RF Engineer will perform RF analysis, simulations, and testing to validate designs, and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RF systems with other disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and software engineering. Additionally, the RF Engineer will develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, and test plans, and will provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members. Proficiency in RF design tools, experience with RF systems and equipment, and a strong understanding of RF engineering principles, including antenna design, propagation modeling, and frequency planning, are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; Master’s Degree with 3 years’ experience; PhD with 1 year experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Proficiency with MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Understanding of radio frequency (RF) theory as it relates to communication.
  • Experience with RF hardware testing, design, and analysis using computer aided design (CAD).
  • Experience in full lifecycle of RF system development and deployment – design, test, production phases.
  • Proven technical writing capability and experience communicating technical and programmatic data in presentations, reviews, papers, etc.
  • Experience and knowledge with using and reading engineering drawings.
  • Software and/or Hardware testing experience.
  • Experience presenting engineering findings orally and in written technical reports and presentations.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Master's degree in RF Engineering or another Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
  • Experience or knowledge of system engineering
  • Teamcenter/CPLM experience
  • Minuteman III Weapon System Knowledge and Experience
  • Knowledge and experience using CAD software (MATLAB & Simulink, Ansys, or similar)
