Principal Antenna/RF Engineer

Honeywell Aerospace•Lansdale, PA
•$166,000 - $207,000•Onsite

About The Position

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Principal Wireless/RF Engineer specializing in antenna technology to invent, design, develop, and test antenna products and subsystems, primarily for advanced Electronic Warfare systems and other aerospace and defense applications across land, sea, and air. The position also supports the broader aerospace business. The engineer will apply expertise in electromagnetics, aperture design, simulation, development, and test to create solutions from concept through product or subsystem, collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams. Work may also contribute to IoT and connected products for military and commercial aerospace systems. The role is based onsite at Honeywell Aerospace’s Lansdale, Pennsylvania location. The site develops and manufactures antenna products and subsystems spanning 3 MHz to 110 GHz and includes antenna test facilities such as anechoic chambers, a compact range, a near-field scanner, outdoor ranges, specialty test and tuning stations, load chambers, and high-power test facilities. The Principal engineer provides technical leadership and execution in a team environment, advises on antenna technology and capital needs, and supports customer meetings, production, and qualification activities. Part-time travel of less than 10% is expected.

  • BSEE with 15 years of RF/microwave antenna design experience and 15 years of RF measurement experience, including VSWR, insertion loss, phase, coupling, pattern, and gain measurements; alternatively, MSEE with 12 years of each type of experience.
  • Eight years of experience operating a PC using standard applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Must be a U.S. person under U.S. export laws, or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain at least a Secret security clearance.
  • Solid theoretical background in RF/microwave theory and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead antenna development from concept to product or applicable subsystem.
  • Strong analytical and test skills.
  • Strong writing, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Ability to lead a technical team across cross-functional engineering groups.
  • Ability to generate white papers, technical proposal documents, and basis-of-estimates for advanced technical bid and proposal pursuits.
  • Excellent presentation skills for internal and customer meetings, reviews, and updates.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD with 10 years of RF/microwave antenna design experience and 10 years of RF measurement experience, including VSWR, insertion loss, phase, coupling, pattern, and gain measurements.
