This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at the Essexville Headquarter in Essexville, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify). The Principal Renewables Engineer is responsible for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of solar, wind, and hydroelectric power plants, as well as emerging technologies and systems that harness renewable energy sources. This role provides technical leadership to engineers and technicians engaged in feasibility studies, cost estimating, and oversight of new plant construction. The incumbent is accountable for the performance of existing facilities and for developing innovative methods to improve plant efficiency, ranging from the design of individual components to overseeing the end-to-end development of new renewable energy facilities. The Principal Renewables Engineer will be dedicated to the engineering and operational performance of multiple solar and battery resources and long-term financial planning of solar and battery resources statewide.
