Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related discipline and a minimum of 12+ years of related experience driving innovation in the development of flexible medical device instruments; or equivalent combination of education and work experience in related regulated industry.
Experience leading a technical cross-functional team through all phases of product development.
Ability to be self-directed with minimal direction and supervision and take initiative to discern from multiple priorities when guiding a technical project team toward efficient solutions and opportunities.
Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Entrepreneurial spirit.
Strong foundation in documentation and communications skills required.

Responsibilities

Serve as the subject matter expert in the design, continuous improvement, and manufacturability of commercialized neurovascular, endovascular or vascular products/product line(s) and /or technical innovation of same.
Provide insights and leadership as an individual technical contributor to promote new ideas and innovation when establishing processes and methods/techniques that drive best practices and engineering principles to a broader technical team.
Mentor and develop other R&D engineers as an industry leader with formal reporting line to an engineering team when needed.
Lead assigned technical projects in the catheter engineering group to drive value improvement, line extensions, and commercial compliance with quality systems and global regulatory requirements.
Evaluate performance characteristics of new product designs and identify opportunities for new development or improvements based on customer feedback, technologies, and clinical needs.
Conceptualize and/or prototype new product designs, add-ons, or enhancements through research, technical discussions, and interaction with SAB and R&D team members.
Ensure products are designed to facilitate manufacturability addressing budget constraints, customer needs, and schedule requirements.
