About The Position

The Principal Program Manager is an enterprise-level, cross-functional leader accountable for the strategy and execution of high-impact, customer-facing silicon photonics (SiPh) programs and product platforms. Operating with broad decision-making authority and minimal oversight, this role drives alignment across Technology Development, Design Enablement, Test, Packaging, Quality/Reliability, Operations, Supply Chain, and key external partners. The PM shapes portfolio priorities and operating mechanisms, influences executive technical and business decisions, and leads complex multi-site, multi-program deliverables from concept through qualification and production ramp. The role is responsible for program governance, stakeholder outcomes, risk posture, and delivery predictability, and serves as a senior representative of the SiPh Product Line in executive and customer forums. Drive revenue growth and increased profitability in the SiPh Product Line (PL) through operational efficiencies. Accelerate the development of fully functional technologies, including test and packaging that meet our customers' key figures of merit in a cost-effective manner. Deploy the optimized development flow, solve technical and non-technical issues methodically, leverage AI/ML, drive additional operational efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience managing programs, products or methodologies in semiconductor or photonics industries
  • Understanding of silicon photonics, product lifecycle, and customer engagement
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Own senior customer relationships and executive stakeholder alignment for SiPh programs; establish governance cadence, drive clarity on scope/commitments, and lead executive decision-making on priorities, trade-offs, and escalation paths across the lifecycle.
  • Translate SiPh product-line strategy into an integrated portfolio execution plan; drive prioritization across multiple programs, align dependencies across functions, and ensure platform readiness decisions support customer and business outcomes.
  • Accountable for end-to-end delivery across feature definition, design enablement, test strategy, packaging/assembly readiness, qualification, and manufacturing handoff; establish readiness criteria, ensure requirements traceability, and drive closure of gaps that threaten delivery.
  • Define and run program/portfolio governance (operating reviews, decision logs, change control); maintain integrated master schedules across sites; proactively manage critical-path risks/issues and drive mitigation/contingency plans to protect commitments.
  • Lead and influence multi-site teams (design, test, packaging, quality/reliability, operations, supply chain) to align resources, sequencing, and priorities; resolve cross-org conflicts and accelerate issue closure with a focus on system-level outcomes.
  • Set qualification strategy, readiness gates, and acceptance criteria with Quality/Reliability and customers; ensure adherence to internal standards and contractual/customer requirements and lead cross-functional closure of qualification gaps prior to production release.
  • Provide demand and build-plan visibility (forecast, key constraints) and align with operations/planning on capacity, materials, and readiness to support qualification builds and ramps; surface cost/schedule/technical trade-offs, quantify impacts, and drive timely decisions with stakeholders.
  • Define and scale program management operating mechanisms (metrics, dashboards, governance, templates) to improve predictability and execution rigor across the SiPh organization.
  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled workflows and analytics to improve program execution efficiency (e.g., automated status reporting, risk signal detection, and decision support), while ensuring appropriate data governance and stakeholder alignment.
  • Lead strategic planning activities, including portfolio prioritization, roadmap alignment, and cross-functional risk posture reviews; influence resourcing and sequencing decisions.
  • Represent the SiPh Product Line in executive reviews, customer QBRs, audits, and cross-company forums; communicate status, risks, and decision asks with clarity and authority.
  • Coach and mentor program managers and cross-functional leaders; raise overall program management capability through training, reviews, and best-practice sharing.
  • Stay informed on industry/market trends in silicon photonics and adjacent technologies; translate insights into program/portfolio implications and recommendations.
