About The Position

Amplitude is seeking a Principal Program Manager, Global Mobility & Immigration to manage and build out the company's immigration, compliance, and mobility/relocation programs. This role is critical due to the significant increase in immigration case load and the growing complexity of global mobility. The successful candidate will partner with Envoy, the immigration services vendor, to translate legal advice into business decisions, own the immigration budget, track changes in immigration law, and develop the company's immigration policy. Additionally, they will design and implement the relocation program, including vendor selection, policy design, and package tiers. The role also involves owning the HR compliance calendar, managing statutory deadlines tied to immigration cases, and building reporting to track program health. This is a senior individual contributor role with the scope to set direction and represent the program to leadership.

Requirements

  • Senior or principal-level experience (P4/P5 equivalent) running an immigration and global mobility programs, with a track record of owning it end to end.
  • Global experience managing cases and compliance obligations across multiple countries, understanding the interaction of immigration, tax, and employment rules across borders.
  • Hands-on experience across AMER, APAC, and EMEA, with a working understanding of regional immigration and mobility differences.
  • Direct partnership with an immigration services vendor or platform of record (Envoy, Fragomen, BAL, or similar), with experience in client-side vendor management at scale.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. employment-based visa categories (H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, PERM/green card sponsorship) and the ability to translate vendor legal guidance into business recommendations.
  • Direct experience building and maintaining relocation services, including packages, costs, vendor management, and advising recruiters and managers.
  • Experience owning HR compliance calendars and reporting, or equivalent compliance operations experience, ideally across multiple countries.
  • A track record of building programs from a blank page.
  • Strong cross-functional partnership skills.
  • Sound judgment and discretion handling sensitive personal and immigration-status data.
  • Clear, plain-language communication skills to explain complex topics to non-experts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Amplitude's end-to-end immigration caseload in partnership with Envoy, translating legal advice into business recommendations for hiring managers, recruiters, and employees.
  • Serve as the single accountable owner for the immigration budget, including approvals, invoice review, and cost tracking.
  • Track changes to U.S. immigration law and policy and assess their impact on active cases and hiring plans.
  • Own and develop Amplitude's immigration policy, serving as the company's reference for sponsorship, timelines, and exceptions.
  • Act as the internal expert and escalation point for immigration-related questions.
  • Design and implement Amplitude's relocation program from scratch, including vendor selection, RFP process, policy design, and package tiers.
  • Own the relocation vendor relationship once the program is live.
  • Advise recruiters and business unit stakeholders on relocation costs to inform offer and hiring decisions.
  • Partner with Recruiting to identify visa and relocation needs at the offer stage.
  • Partner with People Operations to execute moves, onboarding, and benefits coordination for relocating and sponsored employees.
  • Own the HR compliance calendar, including I-9 reverification, LCA postings, PERM recruitment steps, and other statutory deadlines.
  • Build and maintain compliance reporting for People and Legal leadership.
  • Manage broader People Operations compliance reporting, such as new hire training completion.
  • Maintain audit-ready record keeping.
  • Build reporting to track case volume, spend, and program health over time, and present this to leadership.
