Principal Product Manager, Agentic Observability and Governance

UiPath•Bellevue, WA
•$192,000 - $250,000

About The Position

UiPath is seeking a Principal Product Manager to advance its Agentic Automation vision by helping enterprises see, trust, and govern agents, whether they run on UiPath or elsewhere. The role spans agent traces and observability, agent identity, and governance. It will define how traces record agent actions, costs, models, and configurations; establish how agent ownership and delegated permissions are represented; and connect trace and identity data to platform governance, including policy, audit, alerting, and controls. This is a high-agency, hands-on product role focused on defining direction and shipping products in an emerging space. The product manager will work closely with engineers, customers, field deployment engineers, and platform teams; inspect traces, prototype with coding agents, and help establish industry patterns for agent observability, cross-platform trace exchange, identity, and governance. The goal is for every production agent to be visible, attributable, and governable, while enabling builders to diagnose failures quickly, finance owners to trust cost data, and security teams to understand agent actions and delegated authority.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in technical product management or engineering, emphasizing observability, developer platforms, identity, security, or applied agentic AI.
  • A proven record of shipping infrastructure relied on by builders and platform teams.
  • Hands-on experience building observability, telemetry, tracing, or governance products, including systems that capture, correlate, and act on signals across many services.
  • Deep fluency in agentic AI, including models, tool calling, MCP/A2A, coding agents, agent design patterns, evaluations, and observability.
  • Ability to read agent traces, identify what went wrong, and determine how traces could be improved.
  • Working knowledge of identity and access concepts such as service identities, delegated permissions, OAuth, and audit, and an informed view of their application to agents.
  • A builder's posture and bias for action, including the ability to write code or use coding agents to test ideas and ship prototypes.
  • First-principles thinking and comfort with ambiguity, with the ability to reach a defensible direction quickly.
  • Strong communication skills, including writing decision-driving position documents, explaining technical concepts to skeptical architects, and presenting effective demos.
  • Comfort working in regulated, on-premises, and hybrid environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building observability, telemetry, identity, security, or agent platform products at a frontier lab, hyperscaler, observability vendor, or automation vendor, or as an early product manager at a startup in the space.
  • Experience taking a product from 0 to 1; startup or founding product manager experience is strongly preferred.
  • A well-supported point of view on how enterprises will observe and govern agents over the next 24 months.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on and help drive the multi-year vision for agentic observability and governance across the UiPath platform and external agents.
  • Own traces end to end, including their schema, completeness, quality, cost accuracy, token usage, and LLM configuration data.
  • Build observability integrations with other platforms, including OpenTelemetry import and export, Microsoft Agent 365, and other agent and observability ecosystems.
  • Bring UiPath services and teams onto the trace infrastructure, and manage intake, prioritization, and coordination of trace requests across the company.
  • Own agent identity so every agent and run maps to an owner, the user it acts for, and the permissions it used.
  • Represent the Agents team's needs in partnership with platform governance, connecting traces and identity to policy, audit, alerting, and controls such as a kill switch.
  • Partner with large and demanding customers, including customers in regulated industries, on production deployments and investigate trace-level issues.
  • Use the platform hands-on: stand up agents, inspect traces, configure exports to observability tools, and build working prototypes with coding agents.
  • Turn developments in OpenTelemetry GenAI conventions, agent observability, identity standards, and AI governance regulation into a coherent product direction and shipped product.
  • Define and prioritize metrics such as trace coverage and completeness, cost accuracy, time to diagnose failed runs, and the share of agents with a clear owner and identity.
  • Represent UiPath's agent observability and governance approach to customers, partners, and industry forums.
