About The Position

Spinwheel is seeking a Principal Product Manager, Discovery & Growth to independently define and drive the discovery process for the company's future product roadmap. This is a Principal-level individual contributor role for an experienced professional who has previously managed such a function. The role involves setting the strategy for identifying, validating, and proving new product and revenue opportunities before they are considered for core roadmap investment. The position operates with minimal oversight and is responsible for ensuring that new initiatives are rigorously tested and demonstrate a clear connection to revenue before full development. The role reports directly to the Head of Product, with ownership of the full discovery-to-launch pipeline.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product management experience with a track record of owning outcomes at a senior or director level.
  • At least 3 years of experience in fintech, with a strong preference for experience in debt, payments, credit, or lending.
  • Experience building B2B products for enterprise customers.
  • Proven experience leading multiple 0-to-1 builds, including at least one where the discovery process was built and owned.
  • Deep, demonstrated rigor in testing unproven ideas and confidence in deciding when to kill or back an idea.
  • Comfortable engaging in customer conversations, defending recommendations with data to executive leadership, and collaborating directly with engineers.
  • Experience operating as a senior individual contributor or leader in a small, fast-growing company.
  • Comfortable setting direction with limited structure.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with regulated financial environments (FCRA, UDAAP, TILA).
  • Fluency with SQL and experiment design (A/B tests, cohort analysis).

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategy and process for identifying unmet needs and market whitespace in debt, lending, and consumer finance through customer interactions, prospect engagement, internal team collaboration, and market data analysis.
  • Independently shape raw opportunities into testable hypotheses and design lean experiments (prototypes, concierge MVPs, pilots) to validate or invalidate them quickly.
  • Build and present business cases for validated opportunities, including revenue hypotheses and supporting evidence, and lead go/no-go decisions with Product and Sales leadership.
  • Own end-to-end 0-to-1 execution for new initiatives, including scope, sequencing, and trade-off decisions, from launch through growth.
  • Instrument products from the outset and define appropriate measurement strategies for early-stage products.
  • Track post-launch performance against revenue hypotheses and translate learnings from all bets into institutional knowledge for the product organization.
  • Maintain and evolve a visible log of active opportunity hypotheses and their current stage for Product and Revenue leadership.
  • Act as a senior advisor on industry trends, regulatory shifts, and adjacent market dynamics that could present new opportunities.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation
  • Early-stage equity
  • Comprehensive health benefits
  • Fully remote team
  • Company-wide in-person gatherings twice a year
