Principal Product Manager, Consumer Digital Experience

Levi Strauss & Co.
$147,000 - $240,000Hybrid

About The Position

As a Consumer Domain Principal Product Manager, you'll own how Levi Strauss & Co. engages and personalizes for consumers globally across all digital touchpoints. This role involves building channels around the consumer and has the potential to expand into adjacent parts of the consumer journey. You will assess current engagement channels and personalization capabilities, identify areas for improvement, and define the future direction. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on leading outcomes end-to-end, from assessment to roadmap to product shipment, in collaboration with various global teams including engineering, data science, design, marketing/CRM, legal/privacy, and regional/market teams. The ultimate goal is to ensure consumers feel known by the brand, receiving the right message on the right channel at the right moment, globally. Success will be measured by measurable improvements in engagement and personalization performance over time, supported by an evidence-based roadmap and scalable engagement infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 8+ years of experience in product management.
  • Direct ownership of a consumer-facing product, such as personalization or consumer engagement platforms (email, push, SMS), with a global or multi-market scope.
  • Experience with personalization techniques: segmentation, rules-based targeting, and ML-driven recommendations/decisioning.
  • Experience diagnosing personalization maturity and building business cases for improvements (e.g., CDPs, data pipelines, decisioning/orchestration layers), including build-vs-buy-vs-partner calls.
  • Experience shipping a roadmap of connected plans, including specifying and shipping recommendations, features, or campaigns and their results.
  • Experience adapting product, engagement, or personalization strategy across regions or markets (e.g., U.S., Europe, APAC), including navigating region-specific regulatory and channel norms.
  • Experience partnering with data science/ML teams on personalization or decisioning models.
  • Expert-level fluency in AI system design, including orchestration, human-in-the-loop patterns, and their trade-offs (latency, cost, accuracy, responsible use).
  • Comfortable working directly in data (SQL, dashboards, experiment design), including comparing results across markets to make and defend prioritization calls.
  • Experience collaborating and influencing diverse teams (engineering, data science, design, CRM/lifecycle, legal/privacy, regional/market) across different regions without formal authority.
  • Comfortable operating across time zones with globally distributed partners.
  • This is an individual contributor role; no people management, budget/vendor ownership, or sprint execution.
  • Accountable owner of the consumer engagement and personalization roadmap and its requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in retail, apparel, or e-commerce personalization at scale, across multiple international markets.
  • Experience with identity resolution, data clean rooms, or cross-device matching for personalization.
  • Experience applying generative AI to content or creative personalization, including localized or multi-language content.

Responsibilities

  • Assess current communications digital channels and personalization capabilities across global markets to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
  • Define the roadmap to enhance consumer engagement personalization, moving from current state to desired future state.
  • Develop and manage the multi-year vision and prioritized roadmap for consumer engagement and personalization.
  • Make build-vs-buy-vs-partner recommendations for foundational personalization and engagement capabilities (e.g., CDP, recommendation engines, data pipelines, orchestration tooling).
  • Define data signals (purchase history, browse behavior, preferences, lifecycle stage) to improve personalization and oversee requirements for real-time usability across channels.
  • Write Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), briefs, and requirements for engineering, data science, and product teams.
  • Stay involved in delivery, unblocking trade-offs and ensuring accountability for shipped products.
  • Determine the balance between global standardization and market-specific strategies for engagement and personalization.
  • Identify which personalization signals and logic can be generalized globally versus those requiring local tuning.
  • Partner with regional and market teams to incorporate local channel norms, consumer behavior, and regulatory requirements into the roadmap.
  • Build frameworks, strategies, and shared tooling to enable regional teams to move quickly without fragmenting the platform.
  • Define key engagement and personalization metrics globally and by market, and oversee the test-and-learn agenda.
  • Conduct disciplined, cross-market experimentation using data (SQL, dashboards, experiment results) to inform global versus local strategies.
  • Collaborate with and influence engineering, data science, design, and partner teams to align on prioritized investments.
  • Represent the consumer engagement and personalization domain in cross-functional planning and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) cycles, advocating for investment to Directors and VPs.
