About The Position

Truliant Federal Credit Union is seeking a Principal Operational Resilience and Continuity leader to oversee the enterprise-wide business continuity program. This role is crucial for protecting the people, systems, and services that members and teammates rely on daily. The ideal candidate will lead efforts to ensure critical business operations are prepared, responsive, and capable of recovery during disruptions. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to build strong programs, collaborate across the organization, and translate complex risk and continuity needs into practical, sustainable solutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in business continuity planning and program management.
  • 3+ years of experience in business resumption planning, crisis management planning, incident response planning, disaster recovery planning, plan testing, and conducting Business Impact Analysis activities.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and coordinating response to a major, unplanned event requiring activation of business continuity and crisis management plans.
  • 3+ years of experience preparing for and responding to regulatory and internal audits.
  • Ability to act calmly and competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to connect risk, controls, recovery needs, and business priorities.
  • Knowledge of DRII Professional Practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations related to business continuity in banking or credit unions.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, test, and improve enterprise business continuity plans, including tabletop exercises, functional exercises, drills, and documentation updates.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, leadership, negotiation, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate with business units, senior leadership, committees, auditors, and the Board.
  • Ability to build positive relationships across multiple lines of business and manage competing priorities with minimal oversight.
  • Technical competence with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, as well as business continuity planning software.
  • Ability to travel to Truliant locations as needed in response to significant business continuity-related incidents.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience required.
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional, Master Business Continuity Professional, or similar business continuity certification required.
  • Comfortable leading through ambiguity.
  • Willingness to support response teams outside of normal business hours when needed.
  • Ability to help both technical and non-technical partners turn continuity requirements into clear action.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the financial services industry.
  • Banking or credit union experience, especially in a highly regulated environment.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent advanced experience.
  • Experience managing business continuity software, emergency communications software, relocation site planning, or continuity-related vendor relationships.
  • Experience presenting continuity program updates, risk trends, testing outcomes, or audit responses to executive leadership or a Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business continuity planning, documentation, testing, Business Impact Analysis activities, risk assessments, reporting, and program improvements across the organization.
  • Partner with business units, IT, vendors, and leadership to align business continuity, disaster recovery, incident response, and crisis management efforts.
  • Support regulatory and internal audit readiness, committee updates, Board-level reporting, training, and response activities when business disruptions or weather events occur.
  • Serve as a trusted subject matter expert who helps teams understand their role in continuity planning and integrates resilience into Truliant's operations.
