Reimagine What’s Possible The Instrumentation and Equipment Technology Group plays a key role in the development of new technology offerings through the design and fabrication of novel process equipment and controls. This functional team combines multiple design, engineering, and fabrication capabilities to quickly move first of their kind process systems from initial concept to full operation. The responsibility of the Principal Instrument Technician is to provide customer support, calibration, rental, maintenance, and repair for a variety of analytical equipment. The primary responsibilities of this role are electrical equipment and gas analyzer calibrations, maintenance, and repair. The role may also expand to include pressure, flow, temperature, and moisture equipment based upon the skill set of the successful applicant. Daily interaction with the Technology R&D community and broader Air Products businesses requires a highly motivated, self-starter with exceptional communication and strong interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a laboratory or equivalent environment is required.
  • Must possess safe work habits that comply with all safety, health and environmental rules and regulations.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience working with gases, chemicals and analytical equipment is preferred but is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical support to customers in the field.
  • Servicing and repairing equipment requiring electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Calibrating and maintaining analytical equipment.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment to provide on-demand rental equipment to customers and plant sites.
  • Performing data entry and database maintenance required to track equipment rentals, calibrations, and inventory.
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements, safety compliance.
