About The Position
Carlow University’s College of Health and Wellness is seeking a full-time 12-month faculty to join our faculty at the Oakland campus located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We seek a full-time faculty member to serve as Principal Faculty with expertise in physician assistant practice specific to the learning needs of our graduate Physician Assistant program students. Candidates should have expertise in instruction of physician assistant students and have leadership experience. Academic rank, track, and salary are commensurate with educational preparation and experience.
Requirements
- Valid Pennsylvania Physician Assistant License and current NCCPA certification
- A minimum of a master’s degree in physician assistant (MPAS)
- A minimum of 5 years of full-time experience as PA.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and community.
Nice To Haves
- A doctoral degree is preferred.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a PA Program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs is recommended.
- A deep commitment to effective teaching, developing innovative clinical experiences, mentoring students, and interprofessional practice.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and problem solve effectively.

Responsibilities
- Serve as Principal Faculty with expertise in physician assistant practice specific to the learning needs of our graduate Physician Assistant program students.
- Provide instruction to physician assistant students.
- Engage in leadership within the program.
- Mentor students.
- Promote interprofessional practice.
- Commit to professional service within the University and beyond.
