About The Position

Terraphase is hiring a Principal-level Environmental Consultant to help lead and grow their Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert and practicing environmental professional capable of building strong client relationships, managing teams, and acting as a strategic leader in private-sector remediation projects.

Requirements

15+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with an emphasis in remediation, due diligence, or site redevelopment.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and maintain high standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
Track record of building and sustaining client relationships, with a proactive and consultative approach.
Deep technical knowledge in California regulatory frameworks (e.g., DTSC, RWQCB, LARWQCB) and private-sector project delivery.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to shape a regional office’s success through client development and leadership.
Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative leadership style aligned with Terraphase’s culture.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted advisor and technical lead for clients in the private sector (developers, attorneys).
Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
Lead and mentor junior and mid-level staff.
Oversee operations in collaboration with regional leadership.
Provide direction on regulatory strategies and field execution.
