About The Position

The Principal Controls Engineer provides technical leadership for the design, development, testing, and commissioning of complex control and automation systems. The role leads engineering efforts, establishes technical standards and best practices, and provides guidance and mentorship to other engineers. It also drives standardization, innovation, and continuous improvement across the Controls Engineering organization.

The position makes decisions and recommendations with significant impact on extensive engineering and related activities. It negotiates critical and controversial issues with senior engineers and officers at other organizations and companies. The role demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning and guiding extensive engineering programs, manages complex programs critical to company objectives, and acts as a subject matter expert.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• At least 7 years of experience.
• Strong experience in industrial controls, system architecture, automation, and troubleshooting complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
