This position has design, development and maintenance responsibility for the software programs, databases and processes associated with our core business environments. This would include working with a small team to support a broad range of applications in research, investments, front office and trading applications. The role requires direct interaction with end users and excellent analytical and communication skills. Acadian supports a hybrid work environment; employees are on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in computer science or equivalent
  • 10+ years experience in software development
  • 5+ years experience in financial management / services
  • Solid knowledge of modern software design principles, concepts, and practices
  • Significant experience with Python and associated technologies
  • Significant experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience with a major cloud provider (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Building and deploying applications in a cloud environment
  • Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Monitoring, logging, and basic cloud security practices

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of C# / Microsoft stack a plus
  • Experience leading a technical team a plus
  • Experience with cloud-based development (AWS preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Work on an engineering team to design and develop applications to support the business units
  • Assume responsibility for ongoing maintenance of existing core business applications
  • Work collaboratively within IT and various business units across the firm
