About The Position

LHP Engineering Solutions LLC seeks a Principal Embedded Controls Engineer in Pontiac, Michigan. Telecommuting permitted 100% of time. Duties: deliver flexible, integrated, and executable embedded controls solutions for automotive systems to optimize vehicle and equipment performance and comply with safety regulations; analyze requirements and create process improvement and implementation plans to generate executable calibrations and tuning projects; provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to embedded controls engineering teams; provide technical leadership for embedded control and executable calibration projects; stay abreast of changing safety regulations for automotive and safety systems; develop quality assurance techniques for embedded controls and executed calibrations to be developed by junior level engineers; perform root cause analysis and error correction for advanced, complex, and multi-faceted issues; coordinate and lead feature, calibration and functional safety reviews; confirm that new software features integrate with automotive control systems to meet safety and performance requirements; provide technical support and guidance, and collaborate in software and hardware implementation activities; apply quality assurance techniques and ISO 26262 requirements.

Requirements

  • Masters degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, electrical and computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field, and 4 years of experience (gained at any time) in any engineering role which included at least one of the skills listed below.
  • Included within the 4 years of experience, must have experience in all of the following: design and testing of embedded control systems for automotive applications; control module embedded design, including memory allocation, programming standards, microcontrollers, and microprocessor peripherals; testing and validation of system-level requirements; version control, requirements management and lifecycle management software; software architecture; real-time embedded software development tools and processes; application of ISO 26262; control systems in automotive or medical devices; MATLAB, Simulink, or Stateflow.
  • In lieu of masters degree and 4 years of experience, will accept a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, electrical and computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field, and 6 years of post-bachelors, progressive experience in engineering roles which must have included the skills listed above.
