About The Position

The Principal Electro-Optics Test Software Development Engineer is an experienced member of the new product development and introduction team, bridging prototype concepts and delivery of electro-optic products from R&D to manufacturing. The role develops automated test-set software, instrumentation, and test methods to support certification testing of SubCom’s undersea electro-optic network elements. It includes planning and innovation across multiple products and production test sets, as well as developing new test sets and test methods. The position reports to the Director of Certification Test Engineering. The engineer develops software architectures, automated test systems, procedures, and executable code; designs data acquisition and instrumentation-control solutions; and works with R&D, production engineering, and equipment design teams to develop, validate, transfer, integrate, and support test platforms and processes. The role also drives improvements in software development practices, resolves complex technical issues, serves as a technical expert, and mentors engineers and technicians.
