About The Position

The Principal Electrical Engineer for Voyager Lunar Systems serves as the Technical Authority for all electrical systems on Peregrine lunar landers. The role delivers hardware and engineering analysis products for electrical subsystems with appropriate technical rigor, ensures deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget, and ensures subsystem technical risks, issues, and opportunities are documented. The position is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, reports to the Electronic Systems Manager, and is hybrid. The engineer is the single point of technical accountability for lunar lander electrical systems, maintaining the technical solution within project and program constraints and baselines. The role also leads and mentors small engineering teams, delegates technical authority for defined engineering scopes, oversees risk resolution, defines verification and acceptance approaches, supports configuration control, reviews supplier deliverables, and presents and defends assigned scope at formal program reviews. The position requires travel of up to 10%, including possible overnight travel, to domestic and international launch sites, customer facilities, and NASA or government centers. It requires the ability to lift, move, or carry equipment weighing up to 10 pounds. Applicants must meet U.S. Person eligibility requirements for applicable export regulations and be eligible to obtain required export authorizations.
