Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Data Insight Analyst, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. Please note that this opportunity is contingent on program funding. Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, STEM, or a related field with minimum of 5 years of experience (or Master’s degree with minimum of 3 years)
  • Expert-level proficiency in leading data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • SQL skills for efficient data extraction and integration across diverse datasets
  • Ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

  • Experience in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries
  • Experience managing and maintaining SQL databases
  • Demonstrated ability to convert complex business challenges into data-driven insights
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
  • Experience to define, track, and visualize business and engineering metrics using advanced BI tools like Tableau and PowerBI
  • Expertise in developing and managing ETL processes
  • Experience in Python programming for data analysis, manipulation, and automation
  • Experience using version control systems such as Gitlab for collaborative development
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies for project management

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of comprehensive dashboards and reporting solutions that integrate multiple data sources
  • Perform advanced data extraction using SQL combined with robust analysis in Excel and visualization using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
  • Translate complex business requirements into actionable, visually engaging insights
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reports
  • Mentor junior analysts on best practices for data extraction, analysis, and visualization
