About The Position

The Principal Controls Engineer (Field Service Engineering) leads the Active Protection (APS) initiative including installation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and customer support at various domestic and international locations. Assists in developing and provides feedback on system installation drawings, documents, and procedures. Leads and performs APS kit installations, and develops familiarity with customer equipment, sites, and teams. Solves complex problems as they develop; ensures safety, quality, and schedule relative to the assigned contractual tasks. Will be the expert in APS field system installations. Travel may include OCONUS trips. Ability to obtain a Security Clearance is required.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience
  • Engineering degree required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, installs, optimizes, and adapts electronic control systems and instruments to automate and monitor industrial processes.
  • Develops technical designs, process diagrams, SCADA block diagrams, and control schematics to implement automation controls.
  • Configures systems using PLC and HMI techniques.
  • Models, tests, and measures output and data to analyze performance or quality issues and develop solutions.
  • Oversee installations and ensure compliance with all technical and program requirements.
  • Perform root-cause analysis, advanced troubleshooting, and resolve system issues across hardware, software, radar, optics, wiring, and real-time controls.
  • Document installations, issues, and resolutions to meet reporting requirements.
