About The Position

This is an opportunity to grow into a unique technical position while representing cutting-edge automation technology. You'll become the automation product line expert, directly supporting customer maintenance teams and indirectly leading them through your expertise. You'll work alongside project managers and sales staff, bridging the gap between engineering, operations, and customer support.

Requirements

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered.
5-10 years of field service experience or 2-3 years controls engineer experience
Able to lift up to 50lbs
Able to work at the company or customer facilities, in excess of eight hours per day or 40 hours per week on a second shift and/or weekends if necessary
Proficiency in Microsoft office
Experience demonstrating problem solving abilities and resourcefulness
This position must meet export control compliance requirements, therefore a “us person” as defined by 22.c.f.r. § is required
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Must be able to see, talk, hear, touch, feel and reach with hands and arms.
Must be able to frequently walk & stand for short periods of time
Must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds, occasionally lift and move objects up to 50lbs.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in aerospace manufacturing & assembly
Experience working in automation and/or machine tools industry
Familiarity with Siemens automation and controls systems
Ability to learn new software developments in automation
Capable of building automated assemblies
Basic knowledge of manufacturing practices including machining and automated drill and fill

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair complex industrial control systems, including, but not limited to: PLCs, CNC controllers, field bus networks, and drive systems
Read and interpret electrical schematics and have ability to use multi-meter to diagnose electrical circuits
Coordinates and interfaces directly with customers, suppliers, and other entities to ensure that all customer requirements, goals and objectives are fully understood and communicated to senior management
Support field service engineers by traveling to customer sites to perform new machine commissioning, planned preventive maintenance, machine controls upgrades, emergency service, and operator trainings for customers
Follow policy and procedures including safe working practices
Provide input for service bids and quotes
Automated controls system programming
Any additional duties assigned by management
