About The Position

The Principal Scheduler is responsible for leading the review, analysis, and governance of General Contractors’ schedules, providing comprehensive oversight of schedule health and risk across multiple projects or campuses. This role partners closely with NTT’s Construction Leadership and General Contractors to enforce scheduling standards, drive consistency in schedule development and reporting, and ensure accountability to contractual and organizational requirements. The Principal Scheduler provides advanced analysis of schedule performance and delay impacts, including oversight and evaluation of General Contractors’ Time Impact Analyses (TIAs), validation of methodology, and reconciliation against contemporaneous project data. This role delivers high-level, data-driven insights to executive stakeholders to enhance forecasting accuracy, mitigate risk, and improve overall project predictability. Additionally, the Principal Scheduler leads the development and implementation of standardized as-built data collection processes, ensuring accurate and well-documented historical records to support benchmarking, claims mitigation, forensic schedule analysis, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Fully versed in Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling requirements for construction projects, including development and maintenance of logic-driven schedules, critical path analysis, risk assessment, and adherence to contractual scheduling specifications.
  • Proficient in Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Project (MSP) scheduling software.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to analyze and evaluate contractor-produced schedules.
  • Excellent analytical skills, creative thinking ability, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience reviewing Time Impact Analyses (TIAs) and recovery schedules to assess schedule impacts and proposed mitigation strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to clearly set and lead meetings to develop strong project control systems
  • Ability to be highly confidential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to manage stress effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction scheduling, including baseline schedule development, critical path and variance analysis, earned value management (EVM), and forensic schedule analysis.
  • Experience with Data Center construction projects is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead baseline schedule development by partnering with NTT’s General Contractors to establish accurate, fully logic-driven project baselines.
  • Review General Contractors’ project schedules to identify potential risks, constraints, and sequencing issues, with a proactive focus on mitigation and recovery strategies.
  • Develop periodic schedule reports and proactively communicate schedule risks and performance trends to the Project stakeholders.
  • Ensure client-specific scheduling requirements are met, including compliance with contractual obligations, reporting standards, and project specific deliverables.
  • Support the development and refinement of scheduling processes, procedures, and governance standards by providing technical expertise, project-based insights, and actionable recommendations in partnership with the Construction team.
  • Review and evaluate tender schedules for logic integrity and compliance, providing recommendations to support contractor selection and award.
  • Develop schedule what-if scenarios and perform comparative schedule assessments to inform and drive data-based decision making.
  • Develop meaningful scheduling key performance indicators (KPIs) that accurately reflect project progress at any given point in time, enabling clear visibility into performance against baseline.
  • Review Time Impact Analyses (TIAs) and provide structured feedback to the Construction Team and General Contractors.
  • Manage and oversee outsourced planning and scheduling consultants, ensuring deliverables meet contractual requirements, project objectives, and NTT's scheduling standards.
  • Coach scheduling team members and key project stakeholders on CPM best practices, schedule analysis, and reporting standards to strengthen overall schedule competency and governance.
  • Partner with project stakeholders to support planning efforts and maintain schedule control throughout the project lifecycle by developing and managing internal schedules that accurately reflect current progress across all phases.
  • Lead schedule progress meetings with the Construction Team and General Contractors to review status, validate updates, and address variances.
  • Perform any other related tasks as required.
