About The Position
As a Principal Business Systems Analyst at MKS, Inc., you will partner with business and IT stakeholders to gather business intelligence reporting and analytics requirements. You will document functional specifications that map data from applications, create report and dashboard wireframes, analyze source data, identify data gaps, and work with business and technical teams to implement high-quality BI solutions. The position reports to the Sr. Manager of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Reporting. The role supports enterprise-wide business intelligence and analytics initiatives by designing, developing, testing, and implementing data and reporting solutions. It also involves leading requirements and business process analysis, aligning stakeholders on documentation and solution plans, overseeing testing and issue resolution, and serving as a subject matter expert who troubleshoots reporting and data issues, validates data integrity, improves processes, and trains end users.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in IT, systems/data analysis, and SAP data warehouse environments.
- Strong understanding of data warehouse and ETL processes and ability to write SQL queries to analyze data.
- Experience with SAP BW, SAP BW on HANA, SAP ECC, ORACLE, or other major ERP systems.
- Experience with enterprise data warehouse platforms such as SAP BW architectures (BW 7.x, BW on HANA, or BW/4HANA).
- Proficiency with reporting and visualization tools such as SAP BusinessObjects, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Understanding of key business processes in a manufacturing environment, including Sales & Distribution, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Materials Management, and Finance (FICO).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle incident resolution with limited documentation.

- Experience in SAP Datasphere or cloud-based data warehouse solutions.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and document reporting and analytics requirements, translating business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and technical report designs.
- Design, develop, test, and implement data and reporting solutions for enterprise-wide business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
- Lead requirements definition, business process analysis, and documentation, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), and obtain stakeholder alignment and approval.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and technical teams to define solution roadmaps, delivery plans, and reporting strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Lead integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), document test plans, manage issue resolution, and ensure successful solution deployment.
- Troubleshoot data and reporting issues, validate data integrity, improve business processes, and deliver end-user training to support adoption of BI capabilities.
