Principal, Business Intelligence

Hamilton LaneConshohocken, PA

About The Position

Join Hamilton Lane, a global leader in private markets, as we scale to meet the demands of our growing client base. Here, you’ll work with ambitious, high‑performing teams built on integrity, candor and collaboration, backed by our market-leading data and technology. We invest heavily in our people and our partners, giving you the platform to enrich lives, safeguard futures and grow your career. As one of the largest private markets investment firms globally, we provide innovative solutions to institutional and private wealth investors around the world, specializing in flexibility and full-spectrum access. We currently employ approximately 800 professionals operating in offices throughout North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East, and have $1.0 trillion in assets under management and supervision, composed of $146.1 billion in discretionary assets and $871.5 billion in non-discretionary assets, as of December 31, 2025. We are seeking a strategic, data-driven leader to build and oversee Business Intelligence for Private Wealth Solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing our territory framework based on the largest opportunity sets for Hamilton Lane across regions, using data to inform where and how we deploy our sales resources. You will ingest and synthesize new and existing data sources, look at our current information with fresh eyes, and transform insights into practical tools, dashboards, and frameworks that our sales teams can easily digest and act upon. You will track performance against these opportunity maps, identify what is working, and proactively pivot coverage models and priorities as the data dictates. This role requires close partnership with our National Sales Manager, divisional leaders, wholesalers and Sales Operations, as well as heavy coordination with Marketing, to ensure we are targeting the right clients with the right mix of in-person and digital engagement. You will play a central role in aligning sales and marketing efforts, helping us focus field activity where it matters most while scaling outreach digitally to broader segments of our client and prospect base. This is a highly visible position for someone who is passionate about marrying analytics with execution, and who wants to have a direct, measurable impact on the growth of Hamilton Lane’s Private Wealth business.

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain front and backend of CRM in a timely organized manner
  • Strong Excel and Data Skills
  • Deliver product-specific activity data and reporting as needed by internal stakeholders.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in asset management
  • Ability to work independently on multiday projects while maintaining connection to immediate needs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key strategic partner to US Private Wealth (USPW) leadership, helping to design, refine, and execute the overall growth strategy for the platform.
  • Build and continuously optimize data-driven territory frameworks that align coverage with the largest current and future opportunity sets across regions, channels, and client segments.
  • Ingest, synthesize, and interpret new and existing data sources (CRM, flows, client demographics, platform analytics, third-party datasets) to identify where Hamilton Lane is winning, where there are gaps, and where we should concentrate incremental effort.
  • Translate analytics into practical tools and playbooks for the sales team, including territory maps, target lists, prioritization frameworks, and dashboards that are easy to understand and act upon.
  • Own the end-to-end performance tracking for USPW growth initiatives, establishing clear KPIs, monitoring progress against goals, and recommending pivots in coverage, targeting, or resource allocation as the data dictates.
  • Enhance and govern CRM and related data infrastructure so that activity, pipeline, and flow data are captured in ways that directly support strategic decision-making, territory design, and campaign execution.
  • Partner closely with the National Sales Manager and wholesalers to ensure that field activity aligns with strategic priorities and that data-driven insights are consistently reflected in on-the-ground engagement.
  • Collaborate extensively with Marketing to segment the client and prospect base and determine which relationships should receive high-touch, in-person engagement and which are best served through scaled, digital outreach.
  • In partnership with marketing, run targeted campaigns and initiatives (e.g., product launches, focus-firm pushes, regional growth sprints) designing target lists, ways to measure impact, and sharing ideas to refine future efforts.
  • Continuously refine reporting, dashboards, and communication rhythms to keep leadership and sales teams aligned on where we are seeing success, where we are under-penetrated, and what adjustments are required to meet growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement teams across Hamilton Lane, encouraging experimentation, sharing best practices, and ensuring that strategic decisions are grounded in high-quality, well-structured information.
