Why this role is important to us: The Principal Business Consultant at SimCorp, at the IC6 grade, delivers expert solutions with a significant impact on projects and business outcomes. With typically 5-8 years of experience in consulting or a related field, this role leads projects autonomously, provides strategic insights, and applies specialized expertise to design and implement complex SimCorp Dimension solutions. The Principal Business Consultant collaborates with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align solutions with business objectives, ensuring exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction. At SimCorp, we facilitate the streamlining of investments, accounting, and operations for major global financial institutions. We do this through IT systems, processes, and financial knowledge. Implementing our software by way of high-quality projects is at the core of what we do. To introduce our software to our clients, business consultants are essential to us. In the role of SPrincipal Business Consultant specializing in IBOR (Investment Book Of Records), your participation will be instrumental in the expansion of our market unit and in advancing the outcomes of our clients' projects. You will normally be working full-time on implementation projects, which require your special expertise in the IBOR area, and you will be responsible for all aspects of the project stream. You will act as an important sparring partner for your clients and effectively monitor, coordinate, and escalate issues as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Analyst or (Implementation) Consultant for asset managers, asset owners, banks or consulting firms
  • Excellent know-how in at least two of the following areas: Asset Management – Back Office – or Financial Reporting Consulting or Professional Services within the Asset Management sector An implementation role for a software vendor specializing in Asset Management software
  • Asset Management candidates should have 3-5 years of experience working hands on with the investment operations function and related enterprise applications
  • Consultants should have experience with multiple enterprise implementations involving IBOR functions on the buy side, and hands on experience with applications similar to Simcorp Dimension
  • Experience with Trade processing including confirmation and/or trade settlement processes and solutions is a plus
  • Degree within Business discipline (Accounting, Finance, or Economics) or Mathematics/Applied Sciences preferred
  • Self-starter with a can-do mindset
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks and deliver the results on time
  • Have Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English – both oral and written
  • Basic understanding of financial industry/products and related accounting
  • Hands-on experience with SimCorp Dimension is a plus
  • Ability to travel to client’s site (up to 50%)
  • Can attend the SimCorp office 2x/week as per our hybrid policy.

  • Experience with Trade processing including confirmation and/or trade settlement processes and solutions is a plus

  • Independently troubleshoot complex issues and recommend innovative solutions to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency
  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including workflows, integration plans, and technical specifications
  • Manage client relationships and conduct regular updates to ensure client expectations are met and exceeded
  • Drive process improvements and best practices across consulting engagements to optimize outcomes
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge and continuously enhance solutions
