About The Position

Join Goodstart and help shape the future of payroll technology supporting more than 16,500 Goodstarters across nearly 700 centres. As our Senior Payroll Business Analyst (SAP), you'll combine your hands-on Australian payroll expertise with strong SAP payroll systems knowledge to improve payroll processes, strengthen compliance and deliver practical technology solutions. This is a role for someone who understands payroll from the ground up, enjoys solving complex system challenges and is genuinely passionate about getting payroll right. Reporting to the SAP Project Manager, you'll partner closely with Payroll, ICT and business stakeholders to analyse business requirements, optimise payroll systems, lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and drive continuous improvement across Goodstart's payroll landscape. You'll be someone who naturally takes ownership, stays ahead of legislative and system changes, and enjoys sharing your expertise to build capability across the team. Requirements

  • Hands-on experience processing Australian payroll, with a strong understanding of end-to-end payroll operations, awards, leave, overtime, taxation, superannuation and payroll compliance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of SAP HCM Payroll and/or SAP SuccessFactors Payroll, with the ability to troubleshoot issues, understand system configuration and translate business requirements into effective solutions.
  • Proven experience working as a Business Analyst, Payroll Systems Analyst or SAP Payroll Consultant, delivering system enhancements, business process improvements or payroll transformation initiatives.
  • Experience developing business requirements, process documentation, impact assessments and functional specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, execution, defect management and validation of payroll solutions.
  • A genuine passion for payroll, with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the confidence to take ownership, identify opportunities for improvement and build trusted relationships across the business.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence, educate and collaborate across Payroll, ICT and business teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant qualifications in Business Analysis, Information Technology, Human Resources, Payroll or a related discipline, together with relevant industry certifications, will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business analysis activities across SAP Payroll systems, translating business requirements into practical, scalable technology solutions.
  • Apply hands-on payroll knowledge to improve end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring compliance with Australian payroll legislation, awards, taxation, superannuation and leave requirements.
  • Analyse payroll configuration and troubleshoot complex SAP payroll issues, identifying root causes and delivering sustainable solutions.
  • Develop business requirements, functional specifications, process maps and supporting documentation for system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, execution, defect management and validation of outcomes before production release.
  • Partner with Payroll, ICT and key stakeholders to troubleshoot complex payroll system issues, deliver practical solutions and continuously improve payroll processes.
  • Act as a trusted subject matter expert, educating stakeholders, sharing knowledge and helping build capability across payroll systems and business processes.
  • Take a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement, monitoring legislative and system changes, and implementing solutions that improve payroll accuracy, efficiency and user experience.
