About The Position

SiTime is seeking a customer-focused applications engineering professional to support customers using its low-jitter precision timing products, particularly in AI datacenters and communication systems. The role works closely with marketing, regional sales, design, and product engineering teams to meet customer timing requirements and contribute to customer relationships, design wins, and revenue growth across current and future product portfolios. The engineer develops a deep understanding of key customers’ system timing architectures, identifies and drives design-in opportunities, architects timing solutions, and resolves technical issues before and after sale. The position also optimizes customer clock trees and timing architectures, creates technical documentation and training for sales teams and channel partners, and shares customer feedback to inform SiTime’s product roadmap and strategy. The role includes hands-on lab testing, signal-integrity analysis, evaluation-board design and debugging, and support for marketing and sales through experimental data on next-generation products. SiTime welcomes candidates with diverse experiences and notes that applicants need not meet every listed requirement.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of timing specifications and requirements in communication systems, enterprise applications, and datacenters.
  • Ability to perform lab bench testing for PCIe Gen7–8 and SerDes (including 224G) jitter and eye-opening compliance.
  • Hands-on signal-integrity experience, including reviewing customer schematics and PCB layouts for noise coupling and providing recommendations.
  • Experience designing, debugging, and documenting evaluation boards and using associated software to enable and optimize hardware.
  • Strong communication skills for providing prompt and insightful technical assistance to customers.
  • Strong understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Hands-on experience with Python scripting.
  • 10+ years of application and design engineering experience in related areas.
  • English proficiency sufficient to communicate, collaborate, and perform job responsibilities in a professional business environment.
