Principal, Air Quality
About The Position
Ramboll is seeking an experienced Principal to join their Air Quality team in St. Louis, MO. This role involves providing technical and business leadership to develop innovative air quality solutions for various sectors including commercial, manufacturing, government, energy, financial, insurance, and law. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating business sufficient to support 2-3 staff members (nominally $1 MM/year or above after ramp-up), managing consulting assignments, working effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, analyzing and communicating information, and guiding decision-making through cooperation with agencies and organizations. Proficiency in all facets of project management and a commitment to mentoring junior staff are also expected.
Requirements
- B.S./M.S./Ph.D. degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences, or related discipline
- 13+ years of related air science experience, largely in a consulting environment
- Demonstrated capabilities in understanding, interpreting, and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations
- Understanding of air quality issues and agency-approved methods and guidance
- Ability to externally manage client and regulatory agency relationships and internally manage staff and competing project priorities
- Demonstrated business development capabilities
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Responsibilities
- Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities
- Managing projects, clients, and regulatory agency relations
- Critically reviewing and interpreting local, state, and federal environmental regulations, compiling and drafting regulatory applicability determinations, and communicating findings, to co-workers, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Overseeing the preparation of comprehensive federal and state air permit application materials
- Testifying at administrative and/or court hearings
- Participating in local, national and international scientific and trade group meetings
- Conducting site visits
