About The Position

Join Ramboll's Environment and Health department as a Principal in the Air Quality team. This role focuses on providing technical and business leadership, contributing to innovative air quality solutions, and driving business development within various sectors including commercial, manufacturing, government, energy, financial, insurance, and law. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating sufficient business to support the growth of the firm, managing consulting assignments, working effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, analyzing and communicating information, and guiding decision-making. Proficiency in all facets of project management and a commitment to mentoring staff are also expected.

Requirements

• B.S./M.S./Ph.D. degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences, or related discipline
• 13+ years of related air science experience, largely in a consulting environment
• Demonstrated capabilities in understanding, interpreting, and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations
• Understanding of air quality issues and agency-approved methods and guidance
• Ability to externally manage client and regulatory agency relationships and internally manage staff and competing project priorities
• Demonstrated business development capabilities
• Must work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
• Expected to be proficient in the analysis and communication of information
• Must be able to work cooperatively with agencies, organizations, and individuals to guide decision-making
• Expected to be proficient in all facets of project management
• Must demonstrate a commitment to mentoring and developing Associate and Manager level staff and collaboration with colleagues throughout the Practice
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No sponsorship is available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities
• Managing projects, clients, and regulatory agency relations
• Critically reviewing and interpreting local, state, and federal environmental regulations, compiling and drafting regulatory applicability determinations, and communicating findings
• Overseeing the preparation of comprehensive federal and state air permit application materials
• Testifying at administrative and/or court hearings
• Participating in local, national and international scientific and trade group meetings
• Conducting site visits
