About The Position

Ramboll is seeking an Air Quality Principal to join their Environment and Health department in Seattle, WA or Portland, OR. This role involves contributing to innovative and sustainable air quality solutions, growing the Pacific Northwest Air Quality business unit, and providing technical and business leadership. The successful candidate will work with clients in various sectors, manage consulting assignments, collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams, and be proficient in project management and communication. A key aspect of the role is generating business and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

  • B.S./M.S./Ph.D. degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences, or related discipline
  • 15+ years of experience in environmental consulting, focused on air quality, and history of successful business growth within the field
  • Demonstrated capabilities in understanding, interpreting, and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations
  • Understanding of air quality issues and agency-approved methods and guidance
  • Ability to externally manage client and regulatory agency relationships and internally manage staff and competing project priorities
  • Demonstrated business development capabilities
  • Must work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proficient in the analysis and communication of information
  • Able to work cooperatively with agencies, organizations, and individuals to guide decision-making
  • Proficient in all facets of project management
  • Commitment to mentoring and developing Associate and Manager level staff and collaboration with colleagues throughout the Practice
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No sponsorship is available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities
  • Managing projects, clients, and regulatory agency relations
  • Critically reviewing and interpreting local, state, and federal environmental regulations, compiling and drafting regulatory applicability determinations, and communicating findings, to co-workers, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Overseeing the preparation of comprehensive federal and state air permit application materials
  • Testifying at administrative and/or court hearings
  • Participating in local, national and international scientific and trade group meetings
  • Conducting site visits
