About The Position

Wonderful College Prep Academy (WCPA) is seeking a Primary School Elective Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. WCPA is a free, public charter network in California’s Central Valley committed to providing a world-class education. Founded in 2009, WCPA serves 2,400 students across two TK-12 schools in Lost Hills and Delano, California. The mission is to foster a nurturing, engaging, community-centered environment where students develop a strong academic foundation, preparing them to be critical thinkers and lifelong learners. Students benefit from innovative learning experiences, technology, and a focus on health and wellness, including on-site wellness centers, over 30 sports teams, learning farms, teaching kitchens, and the Wonderful Career Pathways program which allows students to earn college credits and an associate degree while in high school. WCPA has been recognized for its leadership, innovation, and commitment to equity, including being named School of the Year by the California Charter Schools Association and America’s Healthiest Schools by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, required.
  • Commitment to our organization's mission and educational philosophy.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit capable of managing many complex tasks with competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-reflective individual who solicits performance feedback and constructive criticism.
  • Flexible and adaptable, open to new ideas, and adjusts plans to meet changing needs.
  • Ability to solve problems strategically and independently.
  • Meets professional commitments in a timely manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university, preferred.
  • Current California Teaching Credential.
  • Classroom teaching experience, preferred.
