Primary Mold Setter
About The Position
The Primary Mold Setter is responsible for the efficient and safe setup of molds in the molding department. This role involves transferring molds, arranging necessary equipment, setting up machines using SMED concepts, and ensuring proper documentation and quality control. The position requires a good understanding of the MIM process and adherence to safety and quality standards. The individual will also be involved in screw cleaning, maintaining 5S, monitoring production, and collaborating with the team to achieve targets. This role may also involve additional responsibilities assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of working experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Good experience in setting up molds in an Injection molding company.
- Flexibility to respond and work according to production plan changes.

- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Responsibilities
- Transferring molds between the mold shop and molding areas.
- Arranging necessary requirements for mold setup.
- Setting up machines by loading and unloading molds effectively, utilizing the SMED concept.
- Arranging proper work instructions and other required documents for mold or component setup.
- Utilizing measuring instruments to qualify components during setup.
- Following proper safety measures on the shop floor.
- Reviewing work plans and daily activities with the manager and executing them on time.
- Performing screw cleaning within target time during material changeovers.
- Acquiring knowledge of the MIM process and following manager's instructions.
- Following established systems for mold setup and entering component quality measures into systems.
- Maintaining 5S in the shop floor.
- Monitoring production by fixing targets.
- Coordinating with other coworkers to achieve production targets.
- Cooperating with the Production Team Lead/Engineer to complete work on time.
- Maintaining tools and accessories required for mold setup and ensuring timely preventive maintenance.
- Being ready to take on additional responsibilities assigned by the manager.
