About The Position

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Primary Medical Assistant to join Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, Arizona. This role supports patient care and clinic operations, including patient intake, diagnostic testing, treatment, coordination of procedures, communication with patients, and preparation for satellite clinic travel. The position is full-time, has a day shift, and requires travel up to 50%.

Requirements

Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
Knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

Cardiac experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Interview patients; measure and record vital signs, weight, and height in patient charts.
Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner.
Operate electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
Fill out testing orders per physician direction.
Send out prescriptions per physician orders.
Order and explain testing to patients.
Give injections or treatments and perform routine laboratory tests.
Set up procedures with hospitals, including completing hospital forms and faxing them back.
Review procedures and instructions with patients.
Escort patients to check-out.
Check voicemails and enter messages into NextGen.
Return patient calls and tasks, including acknowledging receipt of voicemails while an answer is being sought.
Ensure charts have been checked and the proper paperwork is included.
Prepare a bag for travel to satellite clinics.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Travel to satellite clinics as required.
