About The Position

For more than 60 years, PRS, now HopeLink Behavioral Health, has provided comprehensive and specialized support to individuals and families living with behavioral health challenges or facing a life crisis. The LINC Primary Clinician/Therapist provides coordinated, targeted treatment to individuals aged 15-30 who are experiencing the initial onset of psychosis through Linking Individuals and Navigating Care (LINC), HopeLink's Coordinated Specialty Care program in Loudoun County, Virginia. The Primary Clinician/Therapist provides treatment planning; individual, group, and family psychotherapy; health literacy counseling; rehabilitation skill building; crisis support; and coordination of care with individuals' family members, treatment team, and among the multidisciplinary team within LINC.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited college/university in an applicable human services field required.
  • Registration with the Virginia Board of Counseling for clinical supervision working toward licensure (LMHP-E) required.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, theories, and methods of the psychological and social development of the individual.
  • Thorough knowledge of major schools of treatment of emotionally and socially disturbed individuals as well as knowledge of psychiatric, psychological, and/or sociological terminology and concepts.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills with ability to build rapport quickly with client and internal/external providers.
  • Ability to work independently and well organized.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) or ability to learn quickly EHR software.
  • High degree of empathy toward the clients we serve.

Nice To Haves

  • Full licensure in applicable human services field (LMHP) preferred.
  • At least 2 years of post-graduate experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy to program participants.
  • Conduct collaborative, person-centered, and empowering treatment planning with participants and their families.
  • Provide individual evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions such as Individual Resiliency Training (IRT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) designed to assist clients in transitioning to community-based activities as well as wellness and recovery.
  • Provide health literacy counseling to participants within the context of their mental illness and medications.
  • Provide rehabilitation skill building to participants in the domains of independent living skills, symptom management, interpersonal relationships, communication skills, problem solving, and community integration.
  • Provide in-person and virtual crisis intervention as needed to program participants, including providing stabilization, de-escalation, utilization of coping skills, preventing harm, and connecting to higher levels of care as clinically appropriate.
  • Coordinate care with individuals' families, caregivers, relevant treatment providers, and other members of the interdisciplinary LINC team.
  • Support participants with engagement in other elements of LINC's wraparound programming, including psychiatric medication management, peer support, and supported education and employment services.
  • Provide transition and discharge planning including facilitating connections with alternate programming as appropriate.
  • Complete clinical documentation according to HopeLink policies and procedures, Licensure, Medicaid and CARF standards.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work outside of business hours based on client needs. This includes work hours that may encompass evenings and weekends.
