About The Position

Functional Medicine of Idaho was founded in 2018 with the belief that there was a better way to practice medicine, moving beyond quick fixes to address the root cause of patient issues. We are a practice built around the question 'Why do you have it?' rather than 'What do you have?'. Our team consists of providers, nurses, nutritionists, and health coaches who are passionate about doing more for patients. We offer deep training in functional and integrative care combined with conventional medicine, allowing patients to receive comprehensive care without compromise. You will utilize precision testing that goes beyond basic labs and work within an integrated team that combines primary, functional, and specialty care under one roof. This role provides the time needed to truly connect with patients, track progress, adjust treatment plans, and ensure they are feeling better.

Requirements

• Two or more years of clinical experience, preferably in primary care or an outpatient setting.
• Active Idaho license as an MD, DO, NP, or PA, or eligibility to obtain one.
• Prescriptive authority in Idaho, or eligibility to obtain it.
• Degree from an accredited institution.
• Genuine interest in functional and integrative medicine, we will help you go deeper.
• Comfort working inside a multidisciplinary team alongside nurses and nutritionists.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and general computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

• Newer providers with functional medicine training are encouraged to apply.
• Comfort seeing patients across the age range, including pediatric and adolescent patients.
• Certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine, or coursework in progress.
• Prior experience practicing functional or integrative medicine.
• Comfort speaking to groups, we host community talks, workshops, and shared medical visits.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-spectrum primary care to a panel of your own, blending conventional primary care with functional medicine, preventive care, chronic disease management, and root-cause workups.
• Work closely with providers in other specialties, nurses, nutritionists, and health coaches to give patients one coordinated plan instead of several disconnected ones.
• Grow a patient-focused practice with support from our marketing, referral, and front office teams, including internal and external referral networks.
• Give your site's Functional Medicine Medical Director direct feedback on patient flow, care delivery, EMR documentation, diagnostic testing, and therapeutic options.
• Participate in FMI-hosted events and community education efforts that build your panel and our culture.
