About The Position

This is an executive-level outpatient leadership opportunity within a mission-driven community health organization. It features a hybrid leadership model combining clinical care with administrative oversight responsibilities. The role involves leading approximately 15 clinical providers while maintaining direct patient care involvement. The Medical Director will have the opportunity to shape clinical operations, provider workflows, documentation standards, and quality initiatives, serving underserved patient populations while helping drive operational and clinical excellence.

Requirements

  • Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics REQUIRED
  • Minimum 10 years clinical experience REQUIRED
  • Active West Virginia medical license REQUIRED or ability to obtain
  • Leadership qualities and provider oversight capability REQUIRED
  • Comfortable balancing clinical and administrative responsibilities REQUIRED
  • Strong operational and documentation improvement mindset REQUIRED

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient primary care services within Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics scope.
  • Oversee approximately 15 clinical providers and support clinical operations.
  • Supervise advanced practice providers and collaborate with leadership teams.
  • Lead initiatives focused on documentation quality, operational efficiency, and patient care outcomes.
  • Oversee substance use disorder program operations.
  • Support underserved populations with strong Medicaid patient presence.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership on workflow and performance initiatives.
