About The Position

Join us in strengthening primary care and deepening community engagement at Brookside Community Health Center, serving patients and families with the greatest need. Brookside Community Health Center (BCHC) is seeking an inspiring and dedicated Primary Care clinical leader to join the team of seasoned, compassionate primary care professionals and leaders at BCHC, located in Jamaica Plain, a neighborhood of Boston. Brookside CHC was founded in 1970 as part of the national CHC movement and today serves about 12,000 patients from the surrounding communities. The BCHC Medical Director provides clinical leadership for Brookside, overseeing Adult Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, OBGYN, and part time specialty services in Cardiology and Pulmonology. This role partners closely with the Executive Director and Nursing Director to set strategic priorities, implement new initiatives, and ensure the delivery of high quality, equitable care to the diverse communities we serve. Brookside’s team of healthcare professionals are all similarly dedicated to the care of our community and to each other. Wellness is a core tenet for our patients and for our staff. At Brookside, we seek to flatten the hierarchy in healthcare. We are looking for a leader who leads with humility and collaboration. This Medical Director position includes three dedicated leadership sessions (0.375 FTE) to support administrative and operational responsibilities. The role also includes 2–5 on-site Primary Care clinical sessions (0.25–0.625 FTE), enabling the Medical Director to remain closely connected to patient care. We are seeking a skilled clinical leader with deep experience in community health and Primary Care. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of the challenges faced by diverse patient populations, including social determinants of health, and the importance of language- and literacy-concordant care. The ability to effectively advocate for community needs and deliver culturally responsive care is essential. The majority of our patients are insured through MassHealth/Medicaid, and experience caring for Medicaid populations is highly valued. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a clear understanding of health disparities and the structural drivers that influence patient outcomes, along with a commitment to advancing equitable, high-quality, patient-centered care. As part of our deep commitment to community health and equity at BCHC, we maintain longstanding partnerships with a variety of community outreach programs. We proudly care for a racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse patient population, with a strong focus on supporting underserved and immigrant communities. A significant portion of our patient population is Spanish-speaking, including many first- and second-generation immigrants from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Central America. In alignment with our mission, we are committed to delivering high-quality, culturally responsive, and language-concordant care that promotes dignity, inclusion, and equitable outcomes for all patients. Brookside is part of the Brigham and Women's Primary Care Center of Excellence, with access to world-class specialists from across Mass General Brigham. Brookside is a comprehensive CHC, with Dental, Nutrition/WIC, Laboratory, Behavioral Health, Financial Counseling, and Social Care Team on site. Brookside practices with a team-based model of care, with integrated behavioral health, team RNs, population health coordinators, high-risk RN/SW case management, community resource specialists, community health workers, as well as nurse-led visits and virtual visits. We are a teaching site for Brigham Internal Medicine Residents and students from Harvard Medical School.
