About The Position
Inova Primary Care is building a pipeline of talented, dedicated Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to join their growing team. While there are no current openings, they are proactively identifying qualified candidates for future opportunities across their 40+ locations in Northern Virginia. The organization is a physician-led entity that prioritizes primary care and offers an integrated care model with seamless access to specialists and other services. They also provide opportunities in subspecialty primary care clinics for unique patient populations and are a national leader in EHR technology, utilizing a robust telemedicine platform. The role involves delivering high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post masters certificate program for nurse practitioners, OR certificate from an education program that is accredited by the Council of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs/Schools, American College of Nurse Midwives, American Association of Colleges of Nursing of the National League for Nursing. For Physician Assistants, graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Prior experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start
- Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- If Nurse Practitioner: RN Compact License (depending on State of primary residence) AND a license (or eligibility for) as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia AND a "Practice Agreement" signed by sponsoring/ supervising physician(s), AND a written "Scope of Practice/Protocol" signed by the supervising physician, AND "Drug Enforcement Administration License" (if prescribing controlled substances)
- Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors
- Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
- Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services

Responsibilities
- Provide direct primary medical care
- Develop differential diagnoses
- Order laboratory studies
- Administer and prescribe treatments as appropriate
- Promote healthy lifestyles by advising patients on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention
- Document patient information, both timely and accurately per protocol within EPIC
- Actively participate in internal quality improvement teams and work with team members to proactively drive improvement initiatives
