About The Position

The Advanced Practice Provider Primary Care Fellowship is a selective program for recent Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant graduates with an interest in furthering their education in the field of Primary Care. This 12-month training program includes clinical time with the guidance of a preceptor, rotations through multiple specialties, didactic lectures, journal clubs, and opportunities to participate in research/QI projects. The Primary Care Fellowship is a three-year commitment limited to Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who have graduated from an accredited school within the 12 months prior to the program start date and, if applicable, have less than nine months work experience as an APP at program start. The three years consists of one fellowship year with an additional two years after graduation as a full provider; the three-year commitment must be completed in Southern Nevada. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position. The ideal candidate for this position will have a unique passion for serving a primary care population, to include geriatrics, a strong work ethic, and self-driven approach to learning. This position is designed to transition newer APPs to independent practice.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Nevada.
  • Must have taken board examinations 90 days prior to start date (anticipated start date: January 18, 2027).
  • Certificate of completion from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program within the 12 months prior to start date.
  • If applicable, employed for no more than nine months as an APP prior to start date.
  • Current Nevada DEA certificate and Nevada Pharmacy license required prior to start date (or in-process).
  • BLS certification required prior to start date (or in process).

Responsibilities
