About The Position

Amgen is seeking a District Sales Manager for its Primary Care sales team, covering the Las Vegas, Reno, Seattle, Portland, Eugene, and Tacoma areas. This role is responsible for overseeing sales activities within a specific geographical district, managing a team of sales representatives, setting sales targets, developing strategies to achieve goals, and reporting on sales metrics. The District Sales Manager will collaborate cross-functionally with other Amgen business units, including District Sales Managers, Regional Sales Directors, and Corporate Account Managers. Requirements

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Sales/Marketing experience OR Master’s degree and 6 years of Sales/Marketing experience OR Bachelor’s degree or and 8 years of Sales/Marketing experience OR Associate’s degree and 10 years of Sales/Marketing experience OR High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Sales/Marketing experience
  • 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources.

Responsibilities

  • Lead district team to maximize performance and achieve/exceed sales and budget targets
  • Demonstrate appropriate coaching and counseling to prepare individuals for future development
  • Screen, interview, and hire candidates
  • Ensure compliance with training
  • Conduct annual and on-going performance reviews and competency assessments
  • Communicate and coordinate with both district and cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Finance, other Business Units)
  • Track the progress of marketing messages and programs
  • Provide feedback to district teams on the marketing, allocating, monitoring, and leveraging of internal and external resources (e.g., discretionary spend)
  • Share best practices with direct reports and peers
  • Coordinate and/or participate in cluster teams
  • Conduct district sales meetings to guide districts
  • Develop local Opinion Leader relationships to achieve aligned objectives
