About The Position

In the Pricing Analyst position, you will support the decision-making process by providing financial analysis behind pricing structures and customer solutions. This position performs analysis, pricing, and proposal work for new business as well as monitoring current customers for profitability. The purpose of this position is to perform analysis, pricing, and proposal work for new business as well as monitor current customers for profitability. The analyst will manage the entire new business process along with account executives beginning with Requests for Proposal through data analysis, pricing, and proposals.

Requirements

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to operate a computer terminal and/or personal computer.
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills required.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform and organize several projects at one time.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of D.O.T and I.C.C. requirements, usually gained through practical experience, preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • One to two years transportation rate experience preferred.
  • One to two years P.C. computer experience preferred, with an Excel emphasis preferred.
  • Zero to six months customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Cost modeling and pricing of transportation opportunities and initiatives which will include new business and contract renewals.
  • Closely monitor economic conditions and competitor pricing and understand the impact to pricing.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Account Executives and internal divisions to ensure pricing is provided based on freight characteristics, customer needs, market imbalances, and expected operating ratios.
  • Summarize and communicate pricing solutions with management and sales teams.
  • Monitor existing business for acceptable margins and provide solutions for customers not meeting those expected margins.
  • Complete additional rate related projects, analysis, and other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
  • Timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift as determined by supervisory personnel.
